29 MarHong Kong to Zhangjiajie: the reunion begins
Meet your fellow travellers at Hong Kong West Kowloon and travel by high-speed rail to Zhangjiajie West, with a possible connection at Shenzhen North or Guangzhou South. After arrival, continue by coach to the Zhangjiajie Eternal Love stage spectacular, an energetic introduction to the region’s stories. Enjoy the listed regional welcome dinner, then settle into the same hotel for three nights — more time to reconnect, with less packing between days.
30 MarGlass bridges and the gateway to the sky
Step onto the transparent Yuntiandu Glass Bridge above Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, then continue to Tianmen Mountain. The cableway carries you toward Yunmeng Peak, with the glass skywalk, Tianmen Cave and the dramatic mountain road adding different perspectives on the landscape. Admissions, the listed cableways and escalators, and shoe covers are included. Weather and local operating arrangements may affect the order of visits.
31 MarInto the sandstone mountains of Avatar
Explore Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, taking the Bailong Elevator to Yuanjiajie. The sandstone pillars, Back Garden and First Bridge Under Heaven create a landscape that feels almost impossible, including the peak associated with the Avatar Hallelujah Mountains. Continue through the Tianzi Mountain area to He Long Park, Imperial Brush Peak and Fairy Scattering Flowers. Included park transport and cableway arrangements bring these memorable viewpoints together.
1 AprAn underground river, then Cantonese flavours
Discover Huanglong Cave, where a boat ride and walk reveal illuminated formations, the Xiangshui River and the celebrated Sea-Stabilizing Needle. After a regional Dagupi lunch, travel by high-speed rail to Guangzhou South. Transfer to Shunde Poly Holiday Inn, or similar, and enjoy the local night-bite tasting listed in the itinerary — a first, flavourful welcome to the Cantonese part of the journey.
2 AprGuangzhou: heritage by day, river lights by night
Begin with breakfast and a taste of Dingsheng Private Kitchen’s signature osmanthus soy-sauce chicken at lunch. Explore the artistry of Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, visit Yuexiu Park and the Five Rams Statue, then continue to Huacheng Square for exterior skyline views of the Canton Tower. Dinner is planned at Lingnan Haiyanlou. End the evening aboard a Pearl River cruise, watching the city lights ripple across the water before your Guangzhou hotel stay.
3 AprOld Guangzhou and a farewell journey to Hong Kong
After breakfast, stroll through Yongqing Fang and discover Xiguan mansions, Liwan Canal and the Cantonese Opera Art Museum. Brick façades, arcaded streets and waterside scenes offer a final glimpse of old Guangzhou. Share a traditional roast goose lunch at Zi Zhou Lou, then travel from Guangzhou South to Hong Kong West Kowloon, where this six-day reunion journey concludes.
