Korea, thoughtfully explored

A country revealed, one landscape at a time.

Some journeys are remembered for a single view. This one unfolds in chapters: a palace courtyard in Seoul, the old stone walls of Gongju, the tiled rooftops of Jeonju, and a first glimpse of the southern coast. Follow Korea's Golden Route through royal cities and living villages, with time in Yeosu and Busan before turning towards Gyeongju's temple heritage, Andong's traditional houses and the mountain landscapes of Seoraksan. Each change of scenery offers another perspective on the country, from the energy of its streets to the quieter presence of its past. With scheduled airport transfers, hotel breakfasts and a shared coach itinerary led by an English-Korean bilingual guide, the essential arrangements are brought together. You can give your attention to the places, people and details that make Korea stay with you.

DAY 01 / FRIDAYYour Korean journey begins

Incheon Airport → Seoul

Arrive at Incheon International Airport, where a local representative meets you for your included transfer to Seoul. The rest of the day is free, allowing you to settle into the city at your own pace after your flight. You may prefer a quiet evening at the hotel or a first independent look at the surrounding neighbourhood, with any personal activities and meals at your own expense. There is no scheduled sightseeing today: this opening chapter is simply a chance to arrive, rest and look forward to the route ahead. Your first two nights are based in Seoul, before the journey turns south towards Gongju and Jeonju.

Leave the capital behind and travel to Gongju, where the heritage of the Baekje kingdom comes into focus. Visit the Tomb of King Muryeong and Gongsanseong Fortress, two distinctive encounters with Korea's royal past, before continuing south to Jeonju. Here, the scenery changes from ancient fortifications to the closely gathered rooftops of Jeonju Hanok Village. Traditional houses give the streets their particular character, offering a memorable setting for a first afternoon beyond Seoul. After your visit, check in at your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. This is the opening stage of the circuit, linking the capital with the cultural heartlands of the southwest.

On the last Monday of each month, when the garden is closed, the programme substitutes Naganeupseong Folk Village or the Suncheon Drama Film Set. The day then brings you to Yeosu, where you visit Yi Sun-sin Plaza before checking into your hotel. Continue to Gyeongju National Museum, bringing the history and artistry of the Silla kingdom into closer view. The route then leads to Andong Hahoe Village, whose traditional houses and village layout preserve a distinctive sense of an earlier Korea. It remains a living community, adding a human dimension to the day's historic sites. Later, travel north to Pyeongchang, known for its role in the 2018 Winter Olympics, and check into your hotel. Good to know

A few details, thoughtfully answered.

Is this a private or an English-only tour?

This is a shared Sit-in-Coach tour with an English-Korean bilingual guide, rather than a private service or an English-only group. Other language-speaking guides may accompany the tour when available. The minimum is two passengers, and your chosen departure must be confirmed before you book associated travel.

Are airport transfers and international flights included?

The programme includes the arrival and departure transfers between Incheon International Airport and Seoul. International airfare is not included. Let Gala Holidays know if you would like a separate quotation for round-trip international flights, and provide your flight details so the transfer arrangements can be confirmed.

How much walking should I expect at Seoraksan?

In October, bus-entry restrictions may require the coach to park at C District Square, with approximately 3.6 km of walking to reach the park entrance. This is the access walk, not a stated total distance for the day's visit. Heavy traffic may prevent the Seoraksan visit altogether. Discuss any mobility concerns with Gala Holidays before booking. The Gwongeumseong Cable Car is optional and costs US$20 per person.

What changes when Suncheon Bay National Garden is closed?

On the last Monday of each month, the garden visit is replaced by Naganeupseong Folk Village or Suncheon Drama Film Set. The operator confirms which alternative forms part of that departure's programme.

Which joining details still need to be confirmed?

The supplied programme lists two different meeting instructions for Day 3: 08:00 at Donghwa Duty Free Shop, Gwanghwamun, and 08:40 at the hotel lobby. The correct time and place must be confirmed before travel. The transfer from the Day 7 Seoul city drop-off to the final hotel, and the precise attractions with excluded admissions, also require confirmation before booking.

What should I know before requesting a reservation?

Prices are per person based on twin sharing, and departures require confirmation with a minimum of two passengers. The booking deadline is seven Korean working days before departure; changes must be requested at least 14 Korean working days before departure. Cancellation charges apply, and any services unused for personal reasons are non-refundable. Korean working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and Korean public holidays; all deadlines use Korean Standard Time.
